Effective August 24, 2026
Hire Best Pros publishes guides to help people understand a project before they hire anyone. This page explains how that content is produced and what we will not do with it.
01What our guides are for
Our guides exist to make a decision easier: what the work involves, what drives the price, what to ask, and how to tell whether a professional is a good fit. They are general information, not professional advice for your specific situation. For legal, insurance, financial, medical or safety questions, talk to a qualified professional about your circumstances.
02Who writes them
Guides are written and maintained by the Hire Best Pros editorial team. When a guide has been reviewed by a qualified professional in that field, the reviewer is named on the page. If no reviewer is named, no outside review has taken place. We do not invent bylines, credentials or reviewers.
03How we handle costs and numbers
Pricing is the easiest place for a content site to mislead people. Our cost guides explain what drives a price and how professionals build an estimate. We do not publish national averages, per-unit prices or regional figures unless we can attribute them to a source we consider reliable, and when we do, that source is cited on the page.
If a number is not on the page, it is because we did not have a source we were willing to stand behind, not because we forgot.
04What we will not claim
- Outcomes, results, savings or settlement amounts
- That any professional is guaranteed, endorsed or certified by us
- Invented statistics, surveys, testimonials or review counts
- Legal, tax, medical or insurance advice for an individual situation
- That reading a guide substitutes for a professional inspection or consultation
05Independence and how we make money
Hire Best Pros is a marketplace. We connect consumers with professionals, and professionals pay to participate. No professional, advertiser or partner can pay to change the substance of a guide, to be recommended within one, or to have a disadvantageous fact removed. Guides link to our own service pages because that is the next step we can actually help with, and those links are always clearly a next step rather than a recommendation of a specific business.
06Updates and corrections
Each guide shows when it was last updated. We revise pages when practices change, when we find an error, or when a reader tells us something is wrong or unclear.
Found a mistake? Tell us and we will look at it. Corrections that change the substance of a guide are noted on the page.
07Use of AI tools
We may use AI tools to assist with drafting, structure and editing. Nothing is published without human review, and we do not publish AI-generated statistics, quotes, sources or credentials. Accuracy is our responsibility regardless of the tools involved.
