Student moves are short but tightly constrained. Schools assign move in windows, parking is limited and elevators are shared, so success comes from packing compactly, arriving inside your assigned window, and arranging summer storage before the last week of term when every option is full.

Before move in day
- Read the housing list of prohibited items before shopping

Packing for a small room
Soft goods travel well in duffels and vacuum bags. Everything else is easier in clear stackable bins that slide under a bed and go straight into storage in May. Keep a small tool kit, a power strip and cleaning supplies accessible rather than buried.
Move out and summer storage
- Book a storage unit or a pickup service before the last month of term
- Photograph the room at move out for the damage deposit
- Do not store food, liquids or anything that melts
- Label bins for the fall so unpacking is not a mystery
