What ZIP code are you moving from?

Hire Best Pros helps connect you with professionals who handle this type of work. We don't perform the work ourselves.

Before you book a moving company

  • Tell Hire Best Pros what you need, in plain language.
  • We help determine which type of professional handles it.
  • The next step may be a call, a form or a link to a partner option.
  • Nothing happens until you choose to continue.

What changes the price

  • Home size and how much is actually going
  • Stair flights, elevator reservations and long carries
  • Whether boxes are packed and sealed before the crew arrives
  • Day of week and time of month

Four numbers make an estimate readable

Crew size, hourly rate, minimum hours and how travel time is billed. With those, you can tell whether two quotes are actually different or just formatted differently.

Plan the date carefully

Month-end, weekends and summer fill first. A flexible date usually means better availability and better pricing.

How it works

  1. STEP 01

    Tell us about your move

Where you're moving from and to, your home size, and the date you have in mind.

  2. STEP 02

Billy helps find the right path

Hire Best Pros identifies the relevant service and the best available way to connect.

  3. STEP 03

    Take the next step

For some services that means a phone call. For others it is a short request form, or a partner who handles that offer.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as an in-state move?

Any move where your current address and your new address are in the same state, whether that's across town or across the state. Same-state moves are usually priced hourly rather than by weight.

How far in advance should I schedule movers?

Two to four weeks is comfortable for most in-state moves. Peak season and month-end dates book further out.

What information do movers need for a quote?

Origin and destination, home size or approximate item count, access details like stairs and elevators, your date, and which services you want.

Is my furniture covered if something breaks?

Basic coverage is included and pays by weight, often around 60 cents per pound, regardless of what the item was worth. Full-value protection costs more and pays to repair or replace.
